Tragic deaths of three people alone in own homes in Glasgow and Renfrewshire sparks appeal to trace families

Police are appealing for help to trace the relatives of three people who tragically passed away in their homes in Glasgow and Renfrewshire this month.

Officers have launched a search to locate the families of Douglas Stewart McKinlay, aged 70, Helen Jess Barton, aged 61, and Leslie McKay, aged 74.

Douglas Stewart McKinlay passed away within his home at Carrington Street in the Woodlands area of the city on Tuesday, March 8, while Helen Jess Barton (maiden name Milne) passed away within her home at Keppochill Road in Springburn on Monday, March 14.

An appeal is also underway to trace the relatives of Leslie McKay, who was found deceased at his home address in Bridge of Weir on Thursday, March 17.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Anyone who has knowledge of the relatives of either of the deceased persons is asked to contact the Administration Department at London Road Police Office via 101 during office hours Monday to Friday.

Alternatively, they can email Greater Glasgow Division at GreaterGlasgowDASU@scotland.pnn.police.uk or, in Leslie McKay's case, CJSD Bereavement Admin Support at CJSDBereavementAdminSupport@scotland.police.uk.
