A motorcyclist has died after a horror smash with a lorry on a country road in Lanarkshire.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the A702 near Elsrickle yesterday, but the 45-year-old man died at the scene.
The driver of the articulated lorry, a 40-year-old man, did not require hospital treatment following the two-vehicle collision.
The incident happened at around 6.40pm on Monday, June 6.
Police have extended their condolences to the tragic driver of the Honda motorcycle.
And officers are now appealing for information and ask for witnesses to come forward as they probe what happened.
Sgt Andy Currie told Lanarkshire Live: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died.
“Our inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed this crash, or who has any information that will assist our investigation to contact us.
“I would also appeal to anyone driving on this road shortly before the crash happened who has dash-cam footage to get in touch. Anyone with information should contact 101.”
