Tragedy as Scottish man dies after work incident in East Ayrshire

A YOUNG Scottish man has died after being injured in an incident at a commercial premises in East Ayrshire.

The 24-year-old from Largs was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital last Friday, and tragically died yesterday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 24-year-old man who was injured at a commercial premises in Kilmarnock Road, Mauchline has died. 

"Emergency services attended the incident around 8.40am on Friday, 28 June, and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. 

"He died on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."

The man's identity has not yet been made public.

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Executive said: "“We are aware of this incident and investigating.”
