A person has tragically been pronounced dead following an incident on the train line in Leeds.
British Transport Police and paramedics were called to the scene near Kirkstall at around 1.30pm today (March 29) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene by the ambulance service. The person's name has not been released by the emergency services.

Northern train services were suspended between Leeds and Shipley and Leeds and Ilkley following the tragedy but all lines have now reopened.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police were called to the line near Kirkstall at 1.34pm today (29 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and inform their family.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
