Chaos as traffic lights stop working on East Lancs Road
Drivers were seen weaving between each other as multiple sets of traffic lights at a busy junction stopped working.

Traffic Lights on East Lancashire Road at the crossroads of Willow Way and North Liverpool Retail Park, in Gillmoss, were completely off on Wednesday (May 11) evening after 5pm. It's unclear why the traffic lights are off and there are no reported power cuts in the area.
Footage taken by the ECHO on the East Lancs shows the traffic lights completely off with traffic diving and weaving between each other as they try to navigate the junction. People can also be seen running across the road trying to get to North Liverpool Retail Park where a Home and Bargain, Food Warehouse and Smyths Toys Superstore are located.
Ava White friend says schoolgirl 'went pale' after fatal stabbing in Liverpool street
A girl described the moment she saw her friend Ava White screaming after being stabbed in the neck.
Ava, 12, was knifed on School Lane in Liverpool city centre last autumn. A 14-year-old boy, Boy A, who cannot be named for legal reasons, accepts stabbing her, but denies murder and manslaughter, saying he acted in self-defence.
A jury at Liverpool Crown Court today watched a recording of an interview detectives carried out with one of Ava's friends, aged 15, on November 26, the day after the fatal incident. Jurors were then played a video of the girl being cross-examined by Boy A's defence lawyers.
The girl, who the ECHO has referred to as Girl C, said she met Ava and other friends at Queens Square. They went to Williamson Square, where they danced to music outside a pub.
'Devastation' as 'bubbly and lovely' mum found dead in her home
A "lovely and "bubbly" mum was found dead at her home in Huyton this morning, prompting a manhunt.
Merseyside Police received calls at around 8.30am that the body of a woman had been found inside a property on Radway Road, Huyton, close to the junction with Lyme Cross Road. Officers and paramedics attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was named locally as Lorraine Cullen, a 43-year-old mum who had lived in the area for a number of years. Merseyside Police confirmed her identity, said her next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.
A 21-year-old man, who detectives say is known to the victim, was arrested a short time later on suspicion of murder. The ECHO was told he was arrested on York Road, a short distance away, where forensics officers were also investigating this morning.
