Traffic chaos as busy junction closed after 'diesel spill'

A road has been closed in Liverpool after a spillage.

Merseyside Police is at the scene of A580 Brunswick Road as a section of the road before the junction with Low Hill is closed. The stretch of road is closed from Trafalgar Way due to a suspected diesel spillage.

The closure has been in place since around 9.55am on Tuesday, July 5. While police are at the scene, assisting with traffic control, a spokesperson has confirmed that Liverpool Council are dealing with the incident.

Traffic is building in the area, with motorists wanting to get to Edge Lane onto M62 having to go towards West Derby road because of the closure. Queues of cars are also leading back to New Islington road and Shaw Street.
