Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPlex have announced a strategic partnership aimed at producing, programming, delivering, and marketing four K-pop cinema releases globally in 2024. These films will be showcased in premium formats such as ScreenX, 4DX, Ultra 4DX, and traditional cinema locations. Trafalgar Releasing entered the K-pop market in 2018 with the release of 'BTS: Burn the Stage the Movie,' which has since generated over $120 million in box office revenue from K-pop releases.
The first project under this partnership is 'aespa: World Tour,' a special cinematic presentation capturing the group's global tour. It will be screened in more than 45 countries on April 24 and 27, with three additional titles to be announced later in the year. Trafalgar Releasing and CJ 4DPLEX have collaborated on global cinema releases since 2021, including Coldplay's Music of the Spheres Tour and various K-pop artists like Blackpink, Seventeen, IU, MonstaX, and NCT Dream.

ScreenX offers a multi-projection cinema system with 270-degree views, with over 339 auditoriums worldwide. 4DX provides a multi-sensory experience with motion, vibration, and special effects, available in over 745 auditoriums across 71 countries. Ultra 4DX combines ScreenX and 4DX technologies in 47 auditoriums globally.
Trafalgar Releasing distributes a variety of cinema releases, including opera performances, theatre productions, and concerts from artists like Billie Eilish, Metallica, and Dolly Parton. The company recently handled the distribution of 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour' and 'Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce' across Europe, Asia, and South America in partnership with AMC Theatres.
