The Hawks are entering a new chapter under head coach Quin Snyder, having parted ways with Nate McMillan during the NBA All-Star Break. While Trae Young thinks great things are coming for Atlanta, some fans are less than encouraged by the disappointing season thus far.
In fact, one local radio host took to Twitter to air his grievances, voicing his displeasure in a reply to a tweet from Young.
Things got a bit heated between the pair, as Young and the Hawks' season ticket holder engaged in a wild back-and-forth on the social media platform.
The Twitter user, who alleges they pay for 10 season tickets, claimed that Young "technically" plays for them. Young adamantly disagreed, savagely clapping back with a perfect retort.
The Hawks are hoping the coaching change will help right the ship after a sluggish start in the 2022–23 campaign. After offloading a plethora of draft picks to form a backcourt tandem of Young and Dejounte Murray, Atlanta has slumped to a 31–30 record, barely scraping into a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, as things stand.
The two-time All-Star didn’t waste any time responding to the radio host's complaints, and now he’ll look to back that talk up on the court as the Hawks fight to claw up the standings in the East.
