Atlanta guard Trae Young has been selected to join the NBA All-Star Game as an injury replacement for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is unable to play due to a calf injury. This decision was announced by Commissioner Adam Silver on Monday, marking Young's fourth All-Star selection.

Initially disappointed by not being chosen through the regular selection process, Young expressed his feelings on social media, coining the term 'getting Traed' in response to feeling snubbed.

Young, the current NBA assist leader, will join Team Chuck in the All-Star Game mini-tournament, which is set to take place in San Francisco this Sunday. He replaces Antetokounmpo, who was drafted by Charles Barkley as the fourth pick in the team selection process.

The All-Star roster now boasts an international flair with players like Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Pascal Siakam, Alperen Sengun, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Donovan Mitchell joining Young on Team Chuck.

Young's exceptional performance this season, leading the league in assists per game with an average of 11.4, solidifies his place among the NBA's elite players. This is the second consecutive year Young has been added to the All-Star roster as an injury replacement, having previously made appearances in 2020 and 2022.

Another injury replacement pick is expected to be made by Commissioner Silver, with Dallas forward Anthony Davis facing uncertainty due to an injury sustained during a recent game. Davis is part of Team Shaq, which includes notable players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, and Kevin Durant.

The remaining All-Stars, selected to Team Kenny, include Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, Cade Cunningham, and Tyler Herro.

As the NBA All-Star Game approaches, fans can anticipate an exciting display of talent and competition among the league's top players.
