Walking Through A Songline, a stellar digital installation of an ancient myth, begins today at Thailand Creative & Design Centre (TCDC).
In this exhibition, visitors can follow in the footsteps of the Seven Sisters who fled across the Australian desert when chased by a male pursuer, imprinting their encounters on geographical features.
Basically, these tracks or songlines are created when ancestral spirits travelled across Australia, creating its vast landscape. For thousands of years, Aboriginal people have followed these paths.
TCDC joined hands with the Australian embassy to offer the pop-up digital experience from today to Nov 6 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Thailand-Australia diplomatic relations. It is developed by the National Museum of Australia and Mosster Studio.
Walking Through A Songline is a portable display that is suitable for all, including a projection structure that uses multi-sensory elements to provide insights into dreaming tracks.
After Thailand, it will go to Cambodia and other countries in Southeast Asia.
It is being held in the Function Room on the fourth floor of TCDC. You can enjoy free entry to the installation.
