Trabzonspor's Spectator Ban Reduced To Four Matches After Appeal

Trabzonspor's ban reduced from 6 to 4 matches after appeal to TFF.

Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor's six-match spectator ban, initially imposed due to their supporters storming the pitch and engaging in altercations with Fenerbahce players, has been reduced to four matches following an appeal to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). The TFF's arbitration board also decreased the club's fine from 3,000,000 to 448,000 Turkish Lira ($14,000).

On March 17, Turkish police detained 12 individuals after clashes erupted between supporters and players during the match. Trabzonspor fans breached security and confronted both security personnel and some Fenerbahce players after the away team's 3-2 victory.

The TFF's decision also upheld the one-match suspensions handed to Fenerbahce players Irfan Can Egribayat and Jayden Oosterwolde for their involvement in the brawl. This incident is just one in a series of unfortunate events that have plagued the league this season.

Following the altercation, Fenerbahce contemplated withdrawing from the Turkish Super Lig in response to the violence. However, after a vote among their members, the club opted to remain in the competition.
