An urgent recall has been issued for kids' toys sold online over choking fears.
Irish parents have been advised to get rid of three toys sold online on Amazon in a warning by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). In an alert on Monday, the CCPC said that the products affected are the Rocky & Chao Wild Animal Hand Puppets, Caterbee Baby Crib Mobile, and The Soulcker Smart LED Strip Lights.
In its notice, the CCPC said: "The Rocky & Chao Wild Animal Hand Puppets and Caterbee Baby Crib Mobile present a choking risk due to the presence of small parts within these products." They also added that the Soulcker Smart LED Strip Lights contain "easily accessible batteries that can be swallowed by children", which poses a choking hazard and can cause damage to the gastrointestinal tract.

According to the CCPC, around 172 Soulcker Smart LED Strip Lights had already been sold in the Republic of Ireland as well as 15 of The Rocky & Chao Wild Animal Hand Puppets and 3 Caterbee Baby Crib Mobiles. Parents who bought these toys recently are being urged to stop using them, and to contact Amazon to see if they can avail of a full refund.
The CCPC said: "If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately, discard the product immediately and keep it out of the reach of children. You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you.
"This can be done via your user account on Amazon." The products were sold online through the Amazon platform and the brands, models, batch numbers and barcodes are currently unknown.
Last week, parents were advised to get rid of two toys sold online on Shein and Amazon also over possible choking concerns.
