Toyosi Olusanya has completed a £200k transfer switch to Houston Dynamo.
The former St Mirren forward has agreed an initial one-year deal with the MLS side with options for a further two seasons.
International transfer certificate and P-1 Visa documents have still to be received but the transfer has been confirmed by both clubs.
Olusanya, 27, was set to leave St Mirren at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract before a deal was struck with the Houston side.
Houston Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad said of the signing: “Toyosi is a dynamic goal scorer who adds more physicality and verticality to our attack.
"He will provide valuable depth at the forward position, especially as we enter the busiest stretch of our season.
"We welcome Toyosi to Houston and look forward to his contributions on and off the field.”

"Toyosi has deserved his move," said St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson.
"It’s something that has come out of the blue, but it’s a fantastic opportunity for him. He’s conducted himself so well since he’s come to the club and proved what a good player and signing he’s been. He deserves every success going forward.
"For the club to secure a six-figure fee with such a short time remaining on his contract is terrific business. It’s credit to the football club and he leaves with our best wishes.
"He’s a terrific person with a fantastic work ethic and is a great example to anyone coming in from non-league of where you can take yourself. We wish him and his family nothing but continued success."
