Toy Story fans were given a sneak peek at the upcoming film, days after Tom Hanks reduced many to tears on wrapping up his final day voicing Woody.
The 40 second teaser, which aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday night, kicks off with the film’s iconic “You’ve Got A Friend in Me” song as the mismatched bunch of toys take a trip to a carnival.
Buzz Lightyear finds himself tied to a wall after becoming a prize on one of the fun fair games, where he is tormented by newcomers Ducky and Bunny, voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele respectively.
The fluffy duo claim Buzz or “Astro Boy” has taken the “top prize spot” on the stall. Ducky attempts to kick Buzz off before he sneakily slams shut his helmet, trapping the toy’s foot.
The trailer also gave fans a glimpse of Bo Peep, who has made her return to the much-loved franchise.
Hanks left fans in tears last week after he signed off his final scene. He shared a picture of himself delivering his final line in the recording studio as he made a nod to Buzz’s famous “to infinity and beyond” catchphrase.
“Final line, final session as Woody of Toy Story 4,” he wrote. “We rode like the wind, to infinity and beyond. Hanx.”
Tim Allen, who voices Buzz, also marked the end of filming, telling fans “it got emotional”.
“Finished my Buzz for Toy Story 4 today and it got emotional,” he tweeted. “Wonderful full body story. You are all going to love the work this incredible team at Pixar created. We are all going to love this story....man its got everything.”
Hanks previously hinted that the fourth film could be the last, describing his last day in the studio as “a moment in history”.
Toy Story 4 is slated for UK cinema release on June 21
