TOWIE's Roman Hackett confesses kissing Love Island's Danica Taylor 'a few times'

The Only Way is Essex's Roman Hackett has spoken about his rumoured romance with Love Island alum Danica Taylor, claiming that they kissed but were not dating.

Roman, 20, and Danica, 21, were photographed kissing in August, with it later speculated that she had split from fellow Islander Jamie Allen, 27, following the smooch.

She has, however, since asserted that she wasn't officially in a relationship with Jamie and that she is simply friends with Roman, who has now spoken out about the kiss, too.

Their kiss was a topic of conversation during his recent appearance on social media series Reality with Will Njobvu, where he was asked about reality TV star Danica.

He told host Will Njobvu that he didn't date Danica but said they spent time together on a couple of nights out, following her departure from the Love Island villa.

Roman admitted they had kissed each other, and when questioned on how many times, he said: "Only a few". It was suggested on the show that it was on at least two occasions.

It was also implied that Danica spent time at his home in Essex, with him saying that it was at a station near his home they were photographed kissing each other in August.

It prompted to Will to clarify if that meant Danica was at his house prior to the photo. Roman nervously laughed and said: "I've just put myself right in it. But yeah, it was near mine".

Roman said that although they had "vibed," things haven't progressed further and they are no longer speaking. He said there was tension over the paparazzi photo of them.

He stated that they discussed the photo after it appeared in the press and claimed that Danica questioned him about whether he had set up the paparazzi moment himself.

Roman – who joined TOWIE last year – said there was an "argument" or "disagreement" about the issue. He further commented to host Will: "We ain't spoke since then to be fair".

Roman said on the show that he had first interacted with Danica over direct message on Instagram, saying that he messaged her first and that she initially responded.

"I messaged her on Instagram, that's how we first met," he explained, adding that she responded. He, however, said she didn't get back to his subsequent reply though.

He alleged during the recent interview that she later told him that she hadn't got back in touch as she was "chatting" to Jamie at the time.

Love Islander Danica recently discussed the kiss and her fizzled out romance with Jamie (ITV)

There was previously speculation that her romance with Jamie ended following the photo of her kissing Roman being published.

Danica however asserted last month that she and Jamie – who had been coupled up on Love Island –  were "never together" and things between them "fizzled out" after the ITV2 show.

She further stated in the recent interview Roman is just a friend and said the photo was "misconstrued". She said it was a "goodbye kiss" that looked "worse" than it was.

The Mirror approached Danica and Jamie's reps for comment.
