Frankie Essex has revealed the scary moment her four-month-old son Logan had to have emergency surgery after a hospital dash.
The former TOWIE star, 34, and her long term boyfriend Luke Love welcomed twins Luella and Logan, in May this year but recently were petrified when Logan had to be rushed to hospital three times last week.
Their baby boy suffered a health scare after routine vaccinations caused an abscess on his leg, resulting in emergency surgery to remove and cure the infection.
The surgery left new parents Luke and Frankie 'terrified' as they waited for good news that Logan's surgery had gone well, and the tiny tot would pull through.
Speaking in her OK! column, Frankie said: "So on Monday morning we went to the doctors and by Monday night, something didn’t feel right so we took him to A&E. He ended up being put in an ambulance to another hospital. Then the next day he had a scan so they could confirm that it was an abscess.
"He then had to go to the Royal London hospital – so the third hospital – to have it removed."
The former TOWIE star described the ordeal as 'terrifying' for her and Luke, and although they asked for a different way to remove the abscess they were told surgery was the only option.
Whilst Logan was apparently fine throughout, he still needed to stay in hospital for five days.
After Logan's surgery, Frankie revealed she has launched a complaint at her GP as the abscess is thought to be the result of Logan's routine vaccinations.
Frankie spoke to the medical team where Logan had his surgery, and said: "I presumed it was a bit common because babies have vaccinations every single day and they have to have three lots – but every doctor and nurse I spoke to said they’d never seen it in a baby."
It isn't just son Logan who has been having health problems, as twin sister Luella has been diagnosed with torticollis, also known as tilted neck that is thought to be caused by the baby's position in the womb.
Frankie explained: "It's not very bad and it's not locked because some babies do have a locked neck. But I took her to a physio and was there for an hour and it was amazing.
"The lady taught me all these different ways to help stretch her neck just by gravity really and to get her to look to the right more."
Fellow celeb mum Marnie Simpson has also been vocal about her journey with torticollis, as son Oax also suffers with the condition and is currently wearing a helmet to cope.
