A man who is believed to be from Northern Ireland has been killed while holidaying in the popular Portuguese town of Albufeira.
According to reports, the man who is said to be aged between 25 and 30, was stabbed to death near a tourist apartment complex in the town in the early hours of Monday morning.
The attacker, whose nationality has yet to be confirmed, was found in a nearby flat and was reportedly in possession of a knife.
He is expected to appear in court today in connection with the incident.

At this point, it is understood that the two men knew each other, but it is not yet known if either of them was living in the area, or if they were holidaying together.
Portuguese police are conducting an investigation and say they believe the murder took place in the early hours of Monday morning.
Officers from Portugal’s GNR force rushed to the scene along with paramedics.
The Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira told local reporters at Jornal de Noticias, that they were “alerted to a case of an unconscious person at around 6.37 am.”
Rui Fernandes, who is leading the investigation, said the man was found in cardiac arrest, “with incisive wounds to the chest".
Authorities have yet to release further information in regards to the nature of the two men’s relationship or the potential motive for the murder.
