Skegness has always been hugely popular with visitors from Nottinghamshire, with many heading to the East Coast over the summer. But there's no shortage of alternative locations to explore while you're in the area.
Mablethorpe and the quieter Sutton-on-Sea are among the alternative options but one other resort is also proving to be popular.
Ingoldmells, a coastal village 10 minutes north of Skegness is well known for its theme park rides at Fantasy Island and is a tourist hotspot in its own right, as Lincolnshire Live reports.
Mary Curran, 71, from Northampton, said: "There's plenty to do and the people here are very friendly. "There's plenty to eat and drink here as well. We usually go around the shops."
Mary's husband, John, 75, added: "We always get the cheap perfume while we're here." Mrs Curran said: "We're staying in Skegness but we'll come here while we stay."
