Tourist discovers 'mind blowing' Google Translate menu hack using phone camera

Travellers jetting off on holiday may be looking to get their hands on some of the foods that different cultures have to offer.

The only problem with traditional restaurants and bars is that they often don't have menus in English, which can be quite tricky if you don't speak the native language.

Thankfully one traveller has found a Google Translate hack which will help you break down any language barrier.

Nguyen, who posts under the username @itsgnochgnoch on Tik Tok, shared the trick to her 62,000 followers of the hack she discovered while eating out in Turkey.

In the clip she, explained how she discovered the smart feature by chance while trying to decide what to order from the menu that was written in Turkish.

Explaining that she downloaded the Google Translate app, she realised there was an option to helps you translate foreign text in seconds using your camera.

In the clip, Nguyen said: "Oh my god guys my mind has just been blown.

"So I'm currently on holiday in Turkey. I'm at a restaurant at the moment and they don't do an English menu and they don't speak a lot of English either.

"So I was like it's fine I'll just put it in my Google Translate.

"I went and downloaded the app for convenience for the rest of the trip, and then I saw a little feature where you open your camera."

She then explained how she went into the feature and discovered that if you point to the menu, all of the foreign text will be automatically translated to English on her screen.

"Literally it translates everything in seconds!" Nguyen said.

She finishes: "I'm like how the hell did I not know this before? Like, this is such a good travel hack, you guys need to get on this!"

Followers were impressed with the trick, with one saying: "Thanks so much!!", while another said: "This is awesome! Thanks for sharing".

A third thought the trick was great, but missed their opportunity, commenting: "Dammit! I just got back frim a month in Europe. That is so genius! Next time! Thank you!"

Other eagle-eyed viewers spotted something else; ludicrous food prices.

One said: "Anyone notice the prices??? Wow", while another joked: "soup 45 euro? did you receive a tourist menu and not the local".
