Tourist, 25, PARALYSED after eating his first cannabis brownie in Amsterdam

A man claims he was left temporarily paralysed after eating a marijuana brownie in Amsterdam when he tried the tasty treat for the first time.

Benjamin Jenner travelled to the Dutch city, famed for legalised cannabis with friends and filmed himself as the drug kicked in.

The 25-year-old marketing coordinator quickly lost the ability to move his body leaving his friend to film him passed out in his hotel room.

The footage has now racked up almost 900K views on TikTok.

Benjamin, of Melbourne, Australia, said: "I was on a guided tour around Europe with my friends, Rhianna and Ebony, and Amsterdam was the final stop, so we stayed an extra four days afterwards to relax because it was so brutal and exhausting.

"I had never tried marijuana as a joint or a brownie before as its illegal here in Australia so I definitely wanted to make the most out of my holidays by trying one.

"I was only told to try a small section but it wasn't kicking in, and because I don't understand limits I naturally just ate the whole thing because it was so dense and nice, which was a big mistake.

"I felt like I was sinking into the bed and the mattress was swallowing me whole. It was so bad.

"I had my eyes closed and I genuinely could not move any part of my body even though I was conscious.

"I knew in my mind that I was clearly high, but my brain could not register to move any part of my body.

"I can't remember how long it took me to sober up, because those three extra days felt like they all merged into one."

The TikTok video was originally filmed in 2018 but was posted recently on the video sharing app.

Benjamin added: "My friend Rhianna took the photo back in 2018, and for years we laughed about how ugly I looked until I reclaimed it and posted it on TikTok.

"The reaction to my TikTok going a bit viral is so funny because so many people have commented similar experiences.

"It further highlights how much connection and common ground social media can create in such a divided and hostile world we are all trying to navigate."

Benjamin said he would do it again but urges other travellers to stay safe.

He said: "To anyone who is looking to try one, please do it in the comfort of your hotel, with comfy beds, and a bathroom close.

"I've read stories of people doing it in public places and that's so terrifying because I couldn't imagine being in a brownie coma in the middle of Amsterdam."
