Touchy Celtic fans live in conspiracy corner and Rangers truth has them running for the hills - Hotline

The Mick Beale Rangers era got off to a flier with the entertaining friendly win against Bayer Leverkusen and fans reckon it could be a new start for some Ibrox stars.

Malik Tillman stole the show but punters are hoping Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos can spark into life – and stay with the Light Blues. John Steel emailed: “Morelos And Kent should be given another chance under Beale. No team bigger than Rangers will want them, even for nothing, so I can see them staying for at least another year. If they play to their potential, Gers will get good money for them. But they will never play for a bigger club than the mighty Glasgow Rangers.”

But Celtic fan Gerrard Kelly, Glasgow, warned: “Just because Rangers won at the weekend now it's a case of bring on the league. Away you go. Neil McCann said the league is not over but Celtic are not going to flop due to a new manager coming in at Rangers. He said the same things about Gio.” Henry Moffat Stirling , said: “Caller George Wilson sums up the delusions of Rangers fans harking on about a title that was won fair and square three years ago. It has since been proved that the ‘training’ title they won was purely down to no fans being in the stadiums and he should worry more about the fact his club are £150m behind Celtic when debt, money at bank and squad value are added up.”

Jamie Thompson, Clydebank, hit back and said: “Caller Tam Williamson said Rangers can't buy success. That’s rich from a Celtic fan. His club is buying anything that has legs and feet. Celtic fans think they are due everything and if they don't get it, there is a conspiracy.”

Celtic could cash in on World Cup star Josip Juranovic but Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: “So Celtic want £6million for a reserve striker and £15m for their reserve right back. After finally having a decent game, Juranovic actually said with a straight face the Champions League helped him turn in a display like that. Does he think we don’t have televisions and forget he hasn’t won a game in European football in over a year with Celtic?”

But Frank McFerran, Carrickfergus, said: What a player Celtic have in Juranovic. He’s definitely good enough to play in the EPL. Celtic will miss him when he goes.”

Meanwhile St Johnstone owner Geoff Brown is selling up and Fraser Mackenzie, Callander, said: "In 1986 Brown inherited a bankrupt football club playing at a dilapidated stadium in the bottom tier but 37 years on St Johnstone are in the top tier having won three major trophies and with £5m in the bank.

“The Brown family’s ownership of St Johnstone will go down as one of the greatest success stories in Scottish football. A massive thank you to Geoff and Steve Brown from all St Johnstone fans.”

England’s World Cup dream was ended by France but sympathy was in short supply. Joe Wilson, Spean Bridge, said: “A Merry Christmas to our English neighbours. Ho! Ho! Ho!” Richard Wharton, Carlisle, said: “Well done the French. Now everyone can watch the rest of the tournament in peace without all the coming home nonsense.”

Paul McArdle, Gourock, said: “A football just landed in my back garden and smashed my greenhouse.”

Maybe it was kicked by Harry Pane.
