The Minnesota Vikings still have plenty of needs to fill heading into the NFL Draft on Thursday night. While wide receiver is a top priority, cornerback is also right up there.
On Tuesday, Doug Farrar of Touchdown Wire released his latest mock draft, in which he had the Vikings selecting Maryland cornerback Deonte Banks.
Banks is an athletic and physical cornerback who fits the play style of new defensive coordinator Brian Flores. He possesses good speed and has the size and length needed for the cornerback position. One of Banks’ strongest traits is his fluidity at the position. He’s smooth in his coverage and has the ability to flip his hips to mirror receivers.
The Vikings addressed cornerback in free agency by signing Byron Murphy Jr., and with this pick they add depth with high-upside.
