Tottenham XI vs Wolves: Kulusevski returns - starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League

Ange Postecoglou has rested some key Tottenham players against Wolves ahead of the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final with Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spurs travel to Germany on Thursday after a 1-1 draw in north London this week and the big news is Dejan Kulusevski is back in the squad.

“It'll be about sort of managing minutes of some guys, but also getting some minutes into other guys,” Postecoglou said on Friday.

“We'll need a big game, big performance, on Sunday, so having some fresh legs will help.

“But also looking to next Thursday, like I said it's not just about resting guys or managing guys, it's also about having guys ready next week. It could go to 120 minutes and we need people ready to go, so a combination of those factors [means] we'll make some changes.”

Destiny Udogie “cramped up” towards the end of the draw with the Bundesliga club and is among the players rested, along with Micky van de Ven and captain Heung-min Son.

Postecoglou has also chosen to protect key midfielders Lucas Bergvall and Rodrigo Bentancur, who shone in the first leg, with Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr getting the nod in the engine roon.

"Some guys need games, you know. You can put them in cotton wool as much as you like, but some players need to play and they need to play pretty regularly, so it'll be a sort of combination of hopefully getting an outcome on Sunday and also having great preparation for Thursday," Postecoglou added.

On-loan forward Mathys Tel has the chance to build on his late goal from the penalty spot in last week's win over relegated Southampton.

Postecoglou has rubbished suggestions in Germany that Tel could return to Bayern Munich at the end of the season, despite Spurs having an option to buy the forward.

"Don’t believe everything that comes out of Germany press. Any press really these days. I shouldn’t say press but just information in general. The days of it being double-checked, triple-checked, triple-sourced are long gone," he said. "Matty’s important for us."
