Giovani Lo Celso, who has started to impress under Ange Postecoglou, is the only new absentee for Spurs after picking up an injury on the training ground.

Spurs thrashed Newcastle 4-1 last weekend and none of their long-term injuries are expected to be fit before the New Year.

"The only one that's new this week is Gio [Lo Celso]," Postecoglou said. "Unfortunately he got a bit of a niggle at training, I don't know what it is. Hopefully it's nothing too serious."

The big question for Postecoglou was whether he starts Richarlison or Heung-min Son through the middle after the Korean impressed back on the wing against the Magpies.

Spurs are still without James Maddison (ankle), Micky van de Ven (hamstring), Manor Solomon (knee), Ivan Perisic (knee), Eric Dier (groin), Ashley Phillips (ankle), Rodrigo Bentancur (ankle) and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring).

Tottenham XI: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr; Johnson, Kulusevski, Son; Richarlison

Subs: Forster, Royal, Dorrington, Dier, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Gil, Donley, Veliz

Injuries: Lo Celso, Maddison, Bentancur, Van de Ven, Perisic, Solomon, Sessegnon, Dier, Phillips

Time and date: 8pm GMT, Friday, December 15, 2023

Venue: City Ground
