Tottenham XI vs Man City: Porro on bench - Starting lineup, team news and injury latest for Premier League

New Tottenham signing Pedro Porro has been named on the bench for their game against Manchester City.

Porro joined Spurs on deadline day on an initial loan deal ahead of a £40million permanent switch from Sporting in the summer.

The 23-year-old Spaniard comes straight into the squad but Emerson Royal starts at right wing-back.

Spurs name the same team that beat Fulham nearly a fortnight ago, so Ivan Perisic starts ahead of Ryan Sessegnon at left wing-back.

Richarlison is back on the bench after injury. Ben Davies starts ahead of Clement Lenglet, who was also guilty of an error in the away game at City.

Harry Kane’s next goal will be his 267th in all competitions for Tottenham, which would mean he surpasses Jimmy Greaves as the club’s record scorer.

Kane is also one short of becoming the third player to net 200 Premier League goals, after Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney.

Antonio Conte will miss the game as he continues to recover following surgery to remove his gallbladder.

Conte is still recuperating in Italy and his assistant Cristian Stellini will take charge of the team.

Confirmed Tottenham XI: Lloris, Emerson, Romero, Dier, Davies, Perisic, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Kane, Son

Subs: Forster, Skipp, Sanchez, Richarlison, Danjuma, Sessegnon, Porro, Lenglet, Bissouma
