Tottenham Hotspur have backed manager Antonio Conte in the transfer market, but new figures show they've also been willing to pay big wages to the players brought in by the Italian.
Former Chelsea boss Conte took over midway through last season, making just two January additions to his squad but still earning a top four finish. Since then, Spurs have spent more than £100m on new signings and been rewarded with an unbeaten start to the Premier League season.
It is no surprise to see Harry Kane top the list, with the England captain signing a bumper new deal with Spurs back in 2018 and reportedly being open to an extension. One might expect captain Hugo Lloris to also be right up there, but the World Cup winning goalkeeper has been bumped down the list by some of Conte's new additions.
According to figures shared by The Sun, Kane is taking home £200,000 per week. That's double the figure made by Lloris, who signed his most recent contract extension in January 2022.
Son Heung-min is also an unsurprising inclusion in second spot, with last season's Premier League golden boot winner just behind Kane on £192,000. Third, though, is summer signing Ivan Perisic, who put pen to paper on a £178,269 per week deal after joining on a free transfer from Conte's former club Inter Milan.
Fourth is Cristian Romero, who joined on an initial loan under Nuno Espirito Santo but made the move permanent in August, with Richarlison and Clement Lenglet just behind. Richarlison is on a reported £133,779 per week after joining from Everton in a deal worth up to £60m, while Spurs are believed to be covering £121,154 per week of Lenglet's Barcelona wages after signing the Frenchman on a season-long loan.

The top 10 is rounded out by January arrival Dejan Kulusevski (£110,000), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£101,923), Lloris and Bryan Gil (£83,000). Spanish youngster Gil, who signed under Nuno, is back in north London but has yet to feature this term after finishing last season on loan at Valencia.
Despite the strong league start, Conte's team were dealt their first defeat of the season on Tuesday. Two late goals saw them beaten by Sporting CP in Lisbon, leaving them with work to do in their Champions League group as they prepare for a double-header against Eintracht Frankfurt.
“We played against a team that is used to playing in this competition," Conte told club media after the defeat. "It’s important… to play in this competition means you are able to manage all these situations. We will continue to work, to have a good reflection about the game, take the positive situations and work on the negative situations.”
