Antonio Conte and his side cemented their claim for a top four place with a convincing 4-0 win over Aston Villa over the weekend. This will increase the Italian's desire to improve the squad ahead of a potential Champions League campaign next season.
Spurs are expected to strengthen significantly in certain areas in the next window, with reports in The Athletic indicating that Fabio Paratici is willing to spend big on a left-sided centre-back. In addition to this, Spurs are expected to make a move for a number of free transfers to bolster their squad.
Football.London Tottenham Alasdair Gold reporter said on his YouTube channel recently that Spurs could target free transfer options in a bid to improve squad depth. He said: “I think they’ll look at more free transfers as well. I know that’s not the sexy thing to do and it won’t excite people, but hey, if it’s Paulo Dybala everyone will change their mind. Paratici likes to look at those free transfers.”

Here we take a look at some of the day's Tottenham Transfer rumours.
Spurs could save £38m in move for centre back
With a left-sided centre-back top of the agenda for Conte, a shortlist has reportedly been drawn up, with The Daily Express reporting that Alessandro Bastoni is top of the Italian's list. However, another option is RB Leipzig and Croatia defender Josko Gvardiol.
Spurs will have received a boost in their pursuit of the 20-year-old who played against England at Euro 2020 for Croatia could be available for a cut price this summer. The recent CIES Football Observatory report into player transfer values states that his market value could be as much as £80million despite Leipzig's reported £42million asking price.
This means that for any move Tottenham could save as much as £38million, and for a graduate of the famed Dinamo Zagreb academy it could be a bargain to bolster Conte's squad. Gvardiol has established himself in the Leipzig first team this season in their pursuit of Champions League qualification in Germany, making 39 appearances across all competitions this season including six in the Champions League.
Spurs urged to sign Kulusevski on permanent deal
BBC pundit and former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks named on loan Tottenham attacker Dejan Kulusevski in his team of the week following the 21-year-old's performance in his side's win over Villa at the weekend. The Swedish forward scored and assisted as Spurs ran riot at Villa park, drawing credit for his performance.
The Daily Mail report that North London club have a £25million option to buy for the Juventus forward, with an initial 18 month loan deal agreed. Crooks has insisted that the option should be exercised, with the right sided forward's future seemingly a priority.
Crooks explained in his column: "What Antonio Conte is doing at Spurs is nothing short of remarkable. He is bringing players to the club who have a different mentality to those who have been there previously.
"One such player is Dejan Kulusevski. He is currently on loan from Juventus but the quicker they make his position at Tottenham permanent the better.
"Kulusevski has been a revelation since his arrival from Italy and brings a certain quality to the side and a healthy competition for places. Suddenly there is an air of ruthlessness about Tottenham's performances - and not before time."
