Tottenham announce Arnaut Danjuma loan move after hijacking Everton transfer
Tottenham have confirmed the signing of forward Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal for the remainder of the 2022/23 season. The former Bournemouth man has been drafted into the squad by Antonio Conte due to the desperate need for further additions in the attacking ranks.
A deal for Danjuma to join Everton on loan for the remainder of the season was all but completed, having held talks with the current crisis club. A medical was said to have been finalised, with signatures all in place and media duties completed too.
However, the deal fell through as Spurs sniffed out an opportunity, with the Toffees dealing with the departure of Frank Lampard as manager after a dismal run of form. It's one of the shock U-turns of the transfer market and it remains to be seen if it's the London club that'll have the last laugh with the addition.

Tottenham make Djed Spence transfer call as Leicester and Brentford look to seal January loan
Tottenham have given the green light for Djed Spence to head out on loan in January with Leicester City and Brentford among the interested clubs, football.london understands. However, Spurs at this current time are rejecting any permanent sales or options to buy the 22-year-old.
Joining the Lilywhites in the summer from Championship side Middlesbrough after excelling in his year on loan at Nottingham Forest, the England Under-21s international was seen as someone who could come in and give Spurs a much-needed upgrade at right wing-back.
Tottenham hold 'crucial' Pedro Porro talks as personal terms agreed for second January transfer
Tottenham's January transfer business seems to have sparked into life late into the window, with further additions being eyed in the coming days. A first signing appears to be just around the corner as Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma is set to be announced as a Spurs player on loan for the remainder of the season.
While the forward area has been addressed, one of the key areas for progress in Conte's system is at wing-back, with a player that will suit both the club policy and his own philosophy. That had led to the targeting of Sporting CP defender Pedro Porro as an option this month.
The former Manchester City player has impressed since moving out to Portugal, but a release clause has led to a stumbling block in discussions. There are hopes that a deal can be reached with Sporting as Fabrizio Romano reports that further talks are being held and are at a "crucial" stage.
The player has already accepted personal terms, with a contract until 2028 agreed if a move can be facilitated between the two clubs. It remains to be seen if there will be an agreement by the end of the talks. However, completing it could move Spurs a step closer to reaching their end goal.
