Tottenham to complete first two transfers from Antonio Conte's six-man £150m shortlist

Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic are set to become the first two signings of Tottenham 's £150million trolley dash.

Head coach Antonio Conte, who has asked for at least six new players to strengthen his squad ahead of Spurs' return to Champions League orbit, is expected to seal his first deals this week. Although the summer window does not open officially until June 10, clubs are lining up their priority transfers – and Conte is not hanging about.

As Conte plans a revamp of his squad to challenge Europe's elite next season, here are the latest Tottenham transfer stories from across the media today...

Forster the cover star

Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster, whose contract at St Mary's expires at the end of next month, will move to North London on a free transfer as back-up for first choice Hugo Lloris, reports Football Insider.

Forster, 34, has already undergone a medical after agreeing financial terms and there are no known obstacles to the agreement being rubber-stamped imminently.

Ivan the Great on his way to N17

Tottenham have won the race for Croatian international Ivan Perisic, who is set to sign a two-year contract with Spurs on a free transfer from Inter Milan.

Sky Sports reports that Perisic, 32, has also undergone a medical and he is expected to provide competition for Ryan Sessegnon in the left wing-back role. Although Perisic made his name as a winger, Conte – who worked with the player at the San Siro – is convinced he is equipped to provide width and cutting edge in his preferred 3-4-3 formation.

Eriksen return in the balance

Christian Eriksen, who has returned to football after his cardiac arrest at the Euros 12 months ago, is still in the frame for a nostalgic curtain call at Tottenham.

The Danish midfielder was a huge hit in his loan spell at Brentford, which ended with the home defeat by Leeds on the final day of the season. Although the Bees are desperate to convert Eriksen's loan into a permanent move, and head coach Thomas Frank enjoys a great working relationship with him, Give Me Sport reports that Spurs are still in the hunt.

Eriksen is thought to be attracted to the chance of playing Champions League football again, and in any event he is likely to stay in the Premier League.

Bastoni in Conte's sights

One priority for Conte is a left-sided central defender, and Alessandro Bastoni – a known quantity from their days as allies at Inter Milan – remains the Tottenham head coach's preferred option. According to the Evening Standard, a proposed £50million deal for Bastoni is in the balance because the 23-year-old Italian international is reluctant to leave Serie A and has doubts about moving to London.

The pathway to a deal has been cleared by Inter agreeing a reported £48,000-a-week contract with Torino's Gleison Bremer. Ironically, 25-year-old Bremer was also on Conte's list of possible targets. If the move for Bastoni falls through, he is expected to go all-out to try and prise Croatia's Josko Gvardiol away from Red Bull Leipzig.
