Tottenham are preparing their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window, where further changes to the squad could impact the direction the club take over the next few years. There remains uncertainty over which options will lead that charge towards the top though, with Antonio Conte nearing the end of his contract in north London.
A whole host of managers have been linked with the job, but until there is a clearer idea of who will take over, it remains to be seen which players will be part of the project. However, football director Fabio Paratici will likely have a large say over this, given his role in transfers.
“Every transfer window we want to add two or three players to our squad, to our plan," the Italian said in February. "We want to sign just players who can add something to us, not just sign players because we have to sign players or because we’re under pressure to sign players.

"That’s not our style. We know our plans, we know our philosophy and we’ll continue like this.”
With a few months to decide on the next additions for the summer transfer window, a report from Record claims that Sporting CP midfielder Manuel Ugarte is on the radar of Spurs. The 21-year-old has impressed for the Portuguese club, becoming a regular feature for the side.
He even showed that he can transfer that to the Premier League in a masterclass performance against rivals Arsenal in the Europa League. Ugarte helped deny the Gunners many chances when returning from suspension, although he eventually went on to receive a red card for denying a counter-attack which saw him earn a second yellow card.
It was a sacrifice that eventually helped the side go on to win the tie and move on to the quarter-finals of the competition. It remains to be seen if the move will go through, but it could be a coup for Tottenham.
