Tottenham target Keane Lewis-Potter has been compared to Eden Hazard amid bidding war

Hull City starlet Keane Lewis-Potter has been attracting the interest of some of the Premier League's biggest clubs recently, and Tottenham are the latest side to join the race.

The 20-year-old has even been compared to Eden Hazard by Hull City youth coach Craig Fagan, who believes that there are similarities between the pair.

West Ham United, Southampton and Brentford have been linked with the talented winger in recent months, and Tottenham have now expressed their interest with a bidding war for Lewis-Potter on the cards.

Hull have been struggling in the Championship, but have won their last two games as their change of ownership has given the Tigers a real boost, and although an exit appeared inevitable, new owner Acun Ilıcalı will do all he can to keep Lewis-Potter at the club.

Incase you're unaware, here Mirror Football takes a look at the exciting young star that is Lewis-Potter...

Who is Lewis-Potter?

Lewis-Potter is an exciting young forward who has established himself as a key member of Hull's first team over recent seasons, despite only being 20-years-old.

The winger joined the Hull youth ranks at the age of 14 before signing scholarship terms towards the end of the 2016/17 season.

The forward attracted the eye of the Hull youth scouts while he was playing for Hessle Rangers, as he celebrated his 300th goal for the side just one month after his 11th birthday.

In one season alone Lewis-Potter managed to score 128 times in the Hull and District Youth League, so it's no doubt he was snapped up, and now he is worrying the defences of the top sides in the Championship.

Fast-forward eight years, and Lewis-Potter was a key component in Hull's promotion to the Championship, and he is destined for the next step up in the coming years.

His career so far

After being fast-tracked into Hull's Under-18s and Under-23s sides, Lewis-Potter signed his first professional contract as he turned 17, and then put pen to paper on an extended deal when he turned 18 in February 2019.

Lewis-Potter was gifted with the best birthday present as shortly after he was handed his first senior appearance for Hull, as he came off the bench in an FA Cup tie against Millwall.

The youngster was named Academy Player of the Year in 2018/19 as he scored 24 goals in 34 games at youth level, but played all but three matches in League One in the 2019/20 season, as Hull were promoted.

Lewis-Potter found the net 13 times in League One that season, and was rewarded with a new contract in January 2021, extending his stay at Hull until the summer of 2023, much to the disappointment of many Premier League admirers.

The 20-year-old has scored five goals in 27 Championship appearances so far this season, as the current campaign is very much focused on staying up, rather than chasing promotion.

How much is he worth?

Lewis-Potter's stock continues to rise as his performances draw in more interest, and Brentford will perhaps be kicking themselves for snubbing a £12million valuation that Hull slapped on the winger in October.

According to The Athletic, Brentford tabled a deal that could rise to around £8million in the closing days of the summer transfer window, but a move never materialised as Hull counter-offered £12m.

Lewis-Potter then signed a new deal, and Southampton and West Ham joined the race ahead of the January window, leaving Hull in a very powerful position.

With Tottenham now in the mix, his price only rises, and with a deal running until 2023, Lewis-Potter could now be worth £20m, although a bidding war could see that figure rise.
