Mikey Moore is ready to fight to establish himself at Tottenham after signing his first professional contract.
The popular midfielder was eligible to sign pro terms on Sunday after turning 17 and has swiftly put pen to paper.
Moore has long been tipped for the top after first joining Spurs at the age of seven and excelling for their youth sides.
He progressed through the ranks and featured regularly for their Under-18s in 2022/23 while still a schoolboy, helping Spurs secure the U17 and U18 Premier League Cup double.
Moore also became the youngest player ever to appear for Tottenham’s U21s in the Premier League 2 when he played aged 15 in April 2023.
The midfielder made his first-team debut last season, coming off the bench against Manchester City in May.
Moore was just 16 years, nine months and three days old at the time, making him the youngest player ever to feature in a Premier League game for Spurs.
He has played frequently for Tottenham during pre-season this summer, scoring twice, and is now hungry for more.
“Obviously signing my first pro [contract] is kind of the moment you have been waiting for,” said Moore. “It’s an unreal feeling.
“It’s a big step, but obviously all the boys have welcomed me in. It’s just about me trying to prove myself really, I’ve done nothing yet.
“I have still got a long, long way to go to establish myself as a first-team player, like the rest of them.
“You don’t expect to come in and have them (fans) singing your name. I didn’t expect it all but appreciate everyone who is supporting it and singing it.
“I think that is the best feeling you can get - when you are playing a football game and you can hear the fans singing your name.
“No matter what I do in football, I think I always want to stay humble, keeping work. I think that is the main thing as a person. I am still nowhere near where I want to be.”
