Tottenham star Ellie Brazil believes Women's Super League fans are being "spoilt rotten" - and expects more upsets this season.
After the Lionesses' success in the summer with their historic European Championship win, most in the WSL remit have strengthened their respective squads as Women's Football enters a new golden age in England. Indeed, all clubs and teams, know that more people are tuning in to watch the FA WSL as broadcast deals start to increase and with the extra incentive to win games, more upsets are starting to become more frequent.
The first two came on match day one as Rachel Daly's return to England's top flight was capped off with a star performance when she netted twice as a striker against Gareth Taylor's decimated Man City side, who are suffering this season with key losses all over the park after Lucy Bronze and Keira Walsh both moved to Barcelona.
Following on from this defeat for the Citizens, they weren't the only ones to be beaten by so-called lower-rank opposition on the opening weekend. Matt Beard's inspired Liverpool picked up the baton from Carla Ward's side as the Reds capitalised on two penalty kicks to shock Emma Hayes and Chelsea. it was a game that prompted the Blues boss to admit that her side couldn't 'hit a barn though on the door.'
But take nothing away from both Aston Villa and Liverpool, their results in those two aforementioned fixtures are making the FA WSL more exciting and unpredictable. This a sentiment that Spurs forward Brazil reiterated with her personal verdict on the new season as she previewed the Lilywhites' assignment this weekend against the newly promoted side from Merseyside.

"I think this season and the start of it has shown that you cannot second guess or underestimate any WSL side this year," the forward told Mirror Football after she attended a Tottenham Community Event at Riverley Primary School.
" Every single team, like a Reading, could put up a shift. Every team can give it a real go right now but It’s Liverpool, if they have got the backing Tottenham have from their men’s side as we do, It’s obviously a very well-done facility and place in general.
"They probably have everything like we do. We are spoilt rotten, so we should perform at the weekend for that reason. We have similar goals, it’s 11 v 11, it’s 90 minutes and it is just the best team that turns out on the day will win it.
"We as a team are still gelling and coming together but that doesn’t mean we don’t play good football, we just have so much more potential to come which is exciting to be a part of. I think Liverpool have started strong and have a good team. If you look at them individually, they have very talented players, so it’s going to be tough, but like I said, every single game will be tough.
"We’ve played three games now and they have all been pretty good. We struggled a bit against Arsenal but the calibre of players they have got is unbelievable. We are driving to get there and once we gel, I want that derby to be something where it’s close and we are going to give it a better go, that’s the plan for next time. But it is just WSL this year, you cannot call it and I think that makes it so exciting. We will give it our best this weekend and hopefully we will get the result."
