Tottenham stance on Antonio Conte stay and Harry Kane transfer exit revealed amid contract worry

Tottenham face some uncertain months ahead when it comes to two key parts of their project on the football pitch. The more immediate concern is over the management staff as Antonio Conte reaches the final few months of his current contract with the Lilywhites.

The Italian managed to secure a top four spot last season that saw the side reach the Champions League and are in prime position to earn that position once again. However, a lack of success in the cup competitions means that there have been doubts over an extension of his stay.

"This is not the right day to speak about my future," Conte said when asked about the decision to stay or leave at the end of the season. "I have a contract with Tottenham and Tottenham know very well my thoughts. At the end of the season we meet and then make a decision."

The Athletic reports that decisive talks will be held in April between the club and the manager, though it remains to be seen if there will be an agreement over any extended stay. Then there is the second issue for the club to consider and that is the future of star striker Harry Kane.

The forward has just over 12-months remaining on his own deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, opening up doubt as to whether he will stay or potentially leave in the summer. There remains to be any breakthrough, though the Athletic reports that Spurs have no intention of a sale in the coming months.

The future of the England captain is seen as a priority, with Spurs prepared to take their efforts to convince the striker into the final year of his contract. It remains to be seen whether either the manager or the forward will continue their stay, but there will be some huge decisions to make soon.
