Tottenham stadium and pitch 'looking fine' during coronavirus lockdown, groundsman reveals

Tottenham groundsman Darren Baldwin has given a glimpse behind the scenes at the club during the coronavirus lockdown.

Spurs were on Sunday due to host the north London derby for the first time at their stunning £1billion stadium, though Arsenal will have to wait due to the coronavirus hiatus.

Premier League football is on an indefinite pause as the country stays in lockdown due to the global pandemic.

There are still 91 games of the league season still to be played, plus further domestic and cup competitions to be completed.

However, during the hiatus, Tottenham's 'Head of Playing Surfaces & Estates' Baldwin and his team have been keeping the club's pitch in perfect condition.

"On a day when we should have hosted our first #NorthLondonDerby the stadium pitch is doing just fine," Baldwin wrote on Twitter.

"Special 'thank you' to my small team that are carrying out the essentials."

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was this week named Venue of the Year at TheStadiumBusiness Awards 2020.
