Tottenham are among the clubs exploring a deadline-day deal for Leeds United’s Dan James but the winger is happy to remain in Yorkshire.
Spurs are in the market for a replacement for Bryan Gil, who wants to return to La Liga side Valencia on loan for the rest of the season.
They are one a number of clubs interested in James after Leeds indicated they would allow the 24-year-old to leave Elland Road before tomorrow’s transfer deadline.
Further talks are expected on Thursday but James is thought to be content where he is and not pushing for a late move.
Valencia are pushing to re-sign Gil after he spent the second half of last season on loan at the Mestalla but Antonio Conte has demanded a replacement for the Spain international, who will not be released unless Spurs sign another winger.
A move for James is likely to be a loan with a view to a permanent deal in future.
