Tottenham Hotspur managing director of football Fabio Paratici was reportedly in attendance at the City Ground on Sunday afternoon to 'scout' Brennan Johnson and Djed Spence.
Both players were subjected to reported interest from several Premier League sides during the January transfer window last month and have continued to catch the eye as the Reds again advanced in the FA Cup in front of terrestrial television cameras.
Johnson scored what proved to be the winner against Leicester City in the first half while Middlesbrough loanee Spence was also on the scoresheet to restore a three-goal lead with the fourth and final strike just after the hour mark.
football.london ’s Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold reported that the former Juventus chief football officer was understood to be taking a trip to the East Midlands a day after Tottenham advanced to the fifth round against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Paratici is likely to have been impressed by the pair's performances against top-flight opposition; a feeling that was made clear by plenty of pundits watching on.
Leicester legend Gary Lineker, watching on from home, dubbed the duo's performances as "absolutely brilliant", while Alan Shearer named Johnson as his man of the match after working on the live television broadcast of the match.
After the match, Johnson moved to reassure Forest fans about his future by reiterating it was always the Wales international's intention to stay at the club last month.
"I love this club, and I've always wanted to stay the whole window," Johnson said. "Once January 31st finished, I was focused on finishing the season here."
Spence's future is less certain, though, once the 21-year-old returns to Teesside at the end of a season-long loan Trentside this summer, as "agent" Lyle Taylor hinted at in the aftermath of the cup run continuing.
