Pedro Porro will join Tottenham Hotspur on loan from Sporting CP on transfer deadline day with the club having an obligation to buy the player, football.london understands. Following plenty of speculation regarding the talented right wing-back over the past couple of months, Spurs finally agreed on a deal with their Portuguese counterparts on Monday evening after a late transfer scare.
With a deal appearing to be finalised on Sunday and a medical tentatively scheduled in for the following day, the Portuguese side had a change of heart over the details of the transfer for Porro. That left Tottenham with plenty of work to do on the eve of transfer deadline day to try and get a move over the line.
Thankfully the clubs did manage to strike an agreement late in the day, which will now see Tottenham strengthen a key area in Antonio Conte's team. Having departed Lisbon on Monday evening, the player will now undergo his medical in north London on Tuesday morning ahead of putting pen-to-paper on a long-term deal.

Initially thought to be a permanent move for Porro, football.london understands that the Spaniard will join Spurs on loan but the deal does include an obligation to buy. The full deal for the 23-year-old is expected to be worth €45m (£39.5m).
football.london understands the loan deal has been done that way to fit in with Sporting's financial commitments. They need it to show in the next financial year, so the two clubs found a solution to still be able to sign the player now rather than wait until the summer.
Porro's transfer to Tottenham will see two of the club's three right wing-backs depart on deadline day. Djed Spence is in France to complete a loan move to Rennes, with Matt Doherty set to join Atletico Madrid on a temporary deal after Spence had turned down the Spanish side in favour of a switch to Roazhon Park.
