Tottenham's new title-challenging line-up as £60m Richarlison fee agreed with Everton

Tottenham are closing in on the £60m capture of Richarlison after a deal was struck with Everton.

The north London side's summer recruitment has already seen three new faces arrive as Antonio Conte continues to shape his squad. He was given minimal opportunity to do so in January, but is now looking to add some serious quality after securing a top four spot.

The Italian has a proven record in England, leading Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2017, and Tottenham are now hoping he can make them competitive once again. Conte is known for his demands, both on and off the pitch, and has been vocal in his desire to not make up the numbers at Tottenham.

He said last season: "To reduce this gap, you need to spend a lot of money because you need to buy important players. You have to know this otherwise you cannot reduce this gap and hope always for a miracle."

Richarlison is set to join for an initial £50m with a further £10m coming in add-ons. It adds more quality to the Tottenham forward line, which was already immensely strong. The Brazilian has been prolific at both Watford and Everton and will slot into their front three in north London.

Rotation will be key as Conte juggles European and domestic commitments with Dejan Kulusevski also an option. In his 3-4-3 formation new man Yves Bissouma, a notable addition from Brighton and Hove Albion, is set to sit alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Ivan Perisic, who has worked under Conte previously at Inter Milan, is an ideal wing-back option on one flank. The uniqueness of the position was always going to force the club into the market to get the type of player Conte required. Ryan Sessegnon began to play more in that role towards the end of the season, and is likely to retain his role.

Cristian Romero, who was a summer signing 12 months ago, continued to show his quality when fit last term and he played alongside a rejuvenated Eric Dier. The Englishman has gone from a defensive midfield role to a centre-half and looks at home in a three man back three.

Ben Davies, previously a full-back, was another man to excel under Conte and morphed into a central defender. The Italian did likewise with Cesar Azpilicueta at Chelsea, turning the right-back into a centre-half. It still leaves Tottenham with some strong options - Davinson Sanchez proved himself in the backline.

Rodrigo Bentancur was a January addition from Juventus and regularly played in the middle of the park, but may suffer following the arrival of Bissouma. Lucas Moura, Sergio Reguilon and Matt Doherty are also first-team worthy stars who will have major roles to play.
