Tottenham: Richarlison backs ‘Professor Conte’ to fix ‘mistakes’ despite fine form

Richarlison is putting his faith in ‘Professor’ Antonio Conte to continue improving his form after a fine start to life at Tottenham.

The Spurs boss has chosen to gradually introduce the £60million signing into his team since a summer move from Everton, with Richarlison notching two goals in eight games - only four of which were starts.

Now, the Brazil forward is ready to kick on and “fix his mistakes” with the help of his coach.

“I’m on the right track. Of course, I still need to improve things, and Professor Conte will fix my mistakes there,” he told ESPN Brasil.

Richarlison scored again for Brazil on Tuesday night, as the South Americans beat Tunisia 5-1 in Paris, although the game was overshadowed by an episode of racist abuse.

A banana was hurled from the stands at the striker as he celebrated the goal. After the game, he challenged the authorities to impose a serious punishment on the culprit.

Richarlison also discussed criticism from pundits in his native Brazil as he prepares to lead the line at the World Cup in Qatar.

“Every time I come here, I score goals,” he added.

“It seems that people from Brazil do not watch us in Europe. We work hard there too, do our serious work there, score goals. And that’s why I got in the squad. It’s about staying focused.”
