Tottenham predicted team vs Newcastle: Clement Lenglet fitness check and Arnaut Danjuma decision

Tottenham face a huge match at Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and Cristian Stellini could make one key change.

The match at St James' Park pits fourth-placed Newcastle against fifth-placed Spurs with the two teams three points apart with the hosts having a game in hand. After their disappointing defeat to Bournemouth, Tottenham need to pick up momentum for a week that brings the game against Eddie Howe's men, a home match against third-placed Manchester United and a trip to Anfield to face a Liverpool side just three points behind them.

Stellini needs to alter the dynamic within the Spurs team and he can do that by making at least one change within his starting XI. The acting Spurs boss said he expected Clement Lenglet to be fine to play despite being forced off against Bournemouth with a foot inflammation problem.

If Lenglet were to fail a fitness check then Stellini's options would be either to play Davinson Sanchez, who was booed by his own fans last week, and switch Cristian Romero to the left again or put Japhet Tanganga over there, with the Spurs academy product more used to the role.

Ben Davies returned to training after his hamstring injury and Stellini said that a late check would be made to see whether the Welshman could take a place on the bench.

Up front, Arnaut Danjuma is a rarity in the Spurs squad in that he has confidence after his goal last weekend on his home debut for the club, two and a half months after he joined.

Stellini could give the Netherlands international his first start, with Son Heung-min switching to the right and Dejan Kulusevski on the bench with Richarlison as attacking options to change the game.

Here is the team we reckon Stellini will select:

3-4-3: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Lenglet; Porro, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Perisic; Son, Kane, Danjuma.
