Tottenham predicted team vs Aston Villa: Antonio Conte makes surprise decision as players return

Antonio Conte has a healthier looking squad to select his Tottenham Hotspur side from to face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Spurs boss goes into the match with all but two of his players fit and ready to play with only Oliver Skipp still out following a setback in his recovery from his pelvic problem, while Japhet Tanganga will be out until pre-season following knee injury. Tottenham head to Villa looking to remain in the top four despite Arsenal playing earlier in the day at home against Brighton in a match they are expected to take all three points from.

There's likely to be only one main decision for Conte to make with his line-up for the match against Steven Gerrard's men and that's whether one of the left wing-backs returns to the team at the expense of their counterparts from the other flank. The Spurs boss may want to return to the balance of having a left-footer on that side of the pitch rather than the unbalanced line-up he had on Sunday, despite the victory against Newcastle.

Conte appeared to be preferring Ryan Sessegnon on the left before his hamstring injury against Everton kept him out for a month, but Sergio Reguilon will be the fitter player having only missed one match with a knee problem. Matt Doherty, who switched sides last weekend, is on top form at the moment and despite Emerson Royal's goal on Sunday, the Brazilian could be the man to make way if the team is changed.

The alternative is that the Italian decides to stick with a team that ripped Newcastle apart last weekend despite the two lefties returning. Elsewhere the starting XI picks itself right now with the momentum and stability they are showing in defence, midfield and in attack.

Here is the side we reckon Conte will select for another big game in the top four race at Villa Park.

3-4-3: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Doherty; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
