Tottenham 'plot £50m double transfer' involving Adama Traore as Franck Kessie talks progress

There are 10 days left in this January transfer window, meaning that time is of the essence for Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici to secure their preferred targets.

With Tanguy Ndombele looking like he's on his way out of north London, a new midfielder is a priority along with wing-backs, a centre-back and backup to Harry Kane.

Conte will be hoping that his unbeaten start in the Premier League at Spurs will convince chairman Daniel Levy to invest in the squad to secure a top four place and potentially the FA Cup.

Here's a look at the latest rumours:

Who:

Adama Traore and Diego Carlos

The Sun

What:

Spurs look set to back Conte this January with a £50m double deal for Adama Traore and Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, according to The Sun.

It has been well publicised that Spurs are hopeful of securing the signature of Traore in their search for a right wing-back this month, and a deal with Wolves looks like a strong possibility.

However, it is known that further defensive reinforcements are needed at Spurs and Fabio Paratici is reportedly ready to back Conte by beating Newcastle to the signature of Sevilla defender Carlos as well.

The 28-year-old's club have repeatedly said he is not for sale, but with a potential £30m offer on the table and Tottenham entering the race along with AC Milan and Newcastle, pressure is building on the Spanish club.

Who:

Franck Kessie

Where:

Sky Sports

What:

Tottenham have been consistently linked with midfielders this January, following news of the imminent departure of Ndombele and have now held talks with AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.

The 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer and according to Sky Sports has held discussions over a move to north London to shore up Antonio Conte's midfield options.

He could join for free when his contract ends, or Spurs could agree a fee with Milan to take him this month with the race for the top four heating up following Spurs' dramatic 3-2 win over Leicester on Wednesday.

Kessie would not be available until his country, Ivory Coast leave the Africa Cup of Nations and having scored as they knocked out defending champions Algeria last night, it could be another couple of weeks until that happens.
