Tottenham plot £50m double January swoop as World Cup winner makes transfer decision

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Saturday, January 22.

Spurs eye Traore and Carlos moves

Antonio Conte looks set to add to his current squad in north London, with Spurs plotting audacious moves for Adama Traore and Diego Carlos.

According to The Sun, the north Londoners are planning a combined £50m for the duo.

Spurs have of course been linked with a switch for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Traore for some time and a deal now appears to be edging close ahead of deadline day.

Meanwhile, they have also emerged as contenders for Sevilla defender Diego Carlos, and will compete with Newcastle United for his services.

Hugo Lloris extends Spurs stay

Whilst Traore and Carlos could soon be putting pen to paper on contracts, one man who has already confirmed his future is Hugo Lloris.

Originally out of contract at the end of the season, the Frenchman has penned a fresh deal until the summer of 2024, by which time he will be 37-years-old.

Manchester United had previously been linked with a move for his services come the end of his original deal.

Dier set to return for Spurs

Conte was also given another major boost ahead of this weekend with the news that centre-back Eric Dier was set to return to action after recovering from a muscular problem.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Italian said: "Eric Dier had a good training session for us and is available. Sonny not yet. We have to wait. He's coming along well but we have to wait until after the international break."
