Kion Etete is currently undergoing his medical at Cardiff City ahead of a permanent move to the Championship side, football.london understands. Coming to the attention of a number of interested clubs after an impressive 2021/22 campaign, the Bluebirds have won the race for his signature in a deal worth £500,000 plus add-ons.
With fellow strikers Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett signing new deals recently, Etete's future at Spurs looked to have been blocked and he will instead now move on. Playing in both League One and League Two last term, the youngster will take the next step in his career and look to make a big name for himself in the Championship.
Joining Tottenham from Notts County in the summer of 2019, the frontman was a regular in Spurs' U18s in his first season at the club before progressing and playing in Premier League 2. Scoring nine goals and registering three assists in 20 appearances in 2020/21, the 20-year-old got his first taste of senior football last campaign as he headed out on loan.

Linking up with League Two side Northampton Town 12 months ago after inking a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2023, Etete marked his debut for the Cobblers with a double in their 2-1 Carabao Cup victory at Championship side Coventry City.
Hitting a further four goals in an impressive loan spell, Spurs recalled the player at the start of the year before sending him to Cheltenham in League One. Etete once again caught the eye out on loan, contributing three goals and three assists in his 13 appearances for the Robins.
Once the striker's move to Cardiff City is finalised, the striker will be hoping to be involved this weekend when the Bluebirds travel to Reading. A Carabao Cup tie against Portsmouth then follows next Tuesday, before league encounters against Birmingham City and West Brom.
