Tottenham blew the chance to open up a seven-point gap to fifth-placed Newcastle as the Cristian Stellini interregnum ended with a 1-0 defeat at Wolves.
Adama Traore's smart finish off the underside of the bar settled an entertaining game after Spurs had twice hit the woodwork through Pedro Porro and Heung-min Son.
Dan Kilpatrick was at Molineux to rate the Spurs players...
Fraser Forster - 8
Parried effort from substitute Raul Jimenez back into the danger-zone for Adama's winner. Earlier had denied Jimenez and Ruben Neves (twice) with a smart, one-handed saves.
Cristian Romero - 7
In total control in the first hour but part of a much more open defence in the final third of the game.
Clement Lenglet - 6
Gave the ball away in a dangerous position, leading to a golden chance for Matheus Cunha.
Ben Davies - 6
Initially struggled with Adama's pace but defended well enough.
Pedro Porro - 7
Curled a 20-yard free-kick off the bar and saw a deflected effort brilliantly saved. He is getting better with every performance.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg - 6
A little flat-footed for the goal as Adama beat him to the loose ball. Looked to get the ball forward whenever possible.
Oliver Skipp - 7
Recycled the ball quickly and was tenacious in the middle of the park.
Ivan Perisic - 6
Forced a save from Jose Sa with a back-post header and put in a succession of crosses. But given his quality and experience, he needs to offer more in the way of end product.
Dejan Kulusevski - 6
Engaging battle with Max Kilman. Drew a fingertip save from Sa in the first half and created a chance for Lenglet, but well-marshalled by the defender.
Heung-min Son - 6
Crashed a shot off the bar, tested Sa and blazed over in a lively but unpolished performance. Also created a chance for Perisic with a free-kick.
Harry Kane - 6
Provided a focal point, battled well and made chances for teammates, but lacked a finishing touch of his own.
Substitutions
Lucas Moura (Kulusevski 77') - 6
Immediately got stuck in and set up a chance for Kane.
Emerson Royal (Porro 81) - 5
Put in one cross of note.
Richarlison (Davies 85') - 6
Not enough time to make an impact and will feel aggrieved at not starting or coming on sooner.
