Fraser Forster
Came in for his first Tottenham start since the draw at Southampton due to Hugo Lloris' injury but could do little about Jadon Sancho's goal after seven minutes. Did make two key saves just before the break to deny Marcus Rashford before the England striker made it third time lucky. Pulled off another great save to deny Aaron Wan-Bissaka after the break. 7
Cristian Romero
Could have done better for the first goal as he allowed Sancho time to get a shot off on goal, as was the case for Newcastle's opener on Sunday. Did however make a very good block later in the first half and helped Spurs push upfield after the break as they put United under a lot of pressure. 7

Eric Dier
Made it so easy for Rashford to net United's second as his England teammate was given all the time and space in the world to fire home. Should have redeemed himself in the second half with a free header but he somehow headed wide of the target. 4
Clement Lenglet
Returned to the Tottenham XI after his recent injury as Ryan Mason opted for a back three. Headed against the crossbar in the second half and defended well on the whole. 6
Pedro Porro
Stood off Sancho for the first when he could have tried better to close him down. Did get Spurs back in the game early in the second half with a superb finish after the ball had fallen kindly to him just inside the area. Looks so much more comfortable going forward after operating as a full-back at Newcastle. 7
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
Battled well in midfield and pushed forward quite often. Had a couple of efforts after the break, including one which was way off target, and was positive throughout. 7
Oliver Skipp
Unlucky not to win the ball off Rashford in a tackle and it unfortunately resulted in Sancho's goal. Did make a telling tackle on the striker midway through the second half with the United man looking destined to net. 7
Ivan Perisic
Back in his preferred left wing-back role after starting as a full-back at Newcastle and was in the right place to clear an effort from Sancho off the line. Went close with a header before then wasting a huge chance when put through on goal, which United duly capitalised on as they got the ball straight upfield to double their lead. Picked out Dier with a stunning cross after the break that the centre-back should have netted and was involved in a lot of good Spurs play. 8
Son Heung-min
Linked up well with his fellow attackers at times but had limited opportunities on goal to begin with. Did spurn a huge one when free at the back post after Harry Kane had picked him out, before atoning for his miss after the Tottenham captain teed him up with another sublime pass. 7
Harry Kane
Looked to create things for Son and Richarlison but had a lack of chances in the first half. Put in a great cross for Son after the restart but his teammate couldn't take the opportunity, but he then got an assist to his name not long after as Son netted. Played a pivotal role after the break. 8
Richarlison
Given the nod in Tottenham's front three ahead of Dejan Kulusevski and saw an early effort saved by David De Gea after Son had played him in. Very lively performance from the Brazilian and gave United problems when cutting in from the left. 6

Made an impact down Tottenham's right flank after his introduction with some positive play. 7
Arnaut Danjuma (Pedro Porro, 77)
Got a few more minutes under his belt as Spurs chased an equaliser. 5
