Tottenham boosted their Champions League hopes and piled the pressure on Frank Lampard with 5-0 thrashing of Everton.
In a stirring response to last week’s FA Cup humiliation at Middlesbrough, Spurs were 3-0 up by half-time after a Michael Keane own goal and strikes by Heung-min Son and Harry Kane.
Half-time substitute Sergio Reguilon scored with his first touch 40 seconds into the second half and Kane added a fifth with a sublime volley.
Dan Kilpatrick was at White Hart Lane to rate the Spurs players...
Hugo Lloris 6
Never really tested by a dreadful Everton side but commanded his area well, coming to claim a number of crosses.
Eric Dier 8
Kept Dominic Calvert-Lewin quiet on the striker’s return to action in a composed display. Nearly scored when he headed Kane’s cross onto the bar in the second half.
Cristian Romero 7
Involved in the build-up to the second goal in an assured performance with the ball. Hacked down Richarlison with a rash orange-card challenge and was taken off early in the second half for his own protection.
Ben Davies 6
Occasionally forced back by Anthony Gordon in the early exchanges but settled into the game and was solid.
No question his best game for Spurs. Finished with two excellent assists for Kane and nearly scored when he fired a fierce effort at Pickford. Linked up well with Kulusevski in a really encouraging display.
Ryan Sessegnon 7
Opened the floodgates when his fierce cross was turned into his own net by Keane. Forced off at the interval with another injury – you hope it’s minor and not another hamstring problem.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg 8
Confident in possession against Everton’s wafer-thin midfield and put in a shift without the ball.
Rodrigo Bentancur 8
Dictated the play from the heart of midfield in a stylish performance on his return from injury. Spurs are a far better side with the Uruguayan.
Dejan Kulusevski 8
Continued his eye-catching adaption to English football with two assists in an all-action performance. Caused Everton’s back line constant problems. Spurs have got themselves a big talent.
Heung-min Son 7
Another hesitant performance in the final third, including a missed 1v1 with Pickford. But got his goal when the goalkeeper let a tame shot through him.
Harry Kane 9
Took both goals well, including another sublime left-foot volley. He consistently produces moments which are beyond the other players on the pitch.
Subs
Sergio Reguilon (Sessegnon 46’) 7
Scored a cool finish with his first touch and threatened with his pace and directness. Nearly set up Sanchez with a nice free-kick.
Davinson Sanchez (Romero 52’) 6
Looked a little rusty at times and doesn’t have Romero’s passing range. But did a job and nearly scored with a late header.
Steven Bergwijn (Son 67’) 6
Caught the eye with a couple of darts up the pitch when Spurs countered but couldn’t help them add to the goals.
