Tottenham player ratings: Son slips, defence struggles, Kane off-key but Kulusevski promising

Hugo Lloris

No real chance with Ronaldo's rocket from distance or close range finish. Made a couple of comfortable saves either side of the break. Made a smart save to push away a Ronaldo shot not long after Spurs' equaliser. Again could only watch Ronaldo's powerful point blank header. 6

Cristian Romero

A mixed display with some good moments but also some shaky ones. He initially had Ronaldo before being pushed away letting him go for the Portuguese's third goal. 5

Eric Dier

Stood off Ronaldo and gave him too much space to score United's 12th minute goal. He saw his goalbound header cleared off the line by Dalot midway through the first half. 5

Ben Davies

Had the ball in the net after running through and finishing well but he was well offside. Tried to get back for Ronaldo's second after Reguilon played him onside but he couldn't. 6

Matt Doherty

Showed some nice touches, including one from Bentancur's pass taking it in his stride and shooting. Could have done more to challenge Ronaldo for his third goal. 5

Rodrigo Bentancur

Off the pace in the game's early stages, including being drawn in during the move for United's early goal. Played some nice passes as the game wore on but this wasn't one of his best showings so far in a Spurs shirt. 6

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Won a ball back in the United half and sent in a low shot that De Gea comfortably held. One of Spurs' better players on the day, winning possession back on plenty of occasions and getting the visitors up the pitch. 7

Sergio Reguilon

Indecisive in attack in the first half and then played Sancho onside for the second half, compounding it by waving at the linesman rather than running back with Ronaldo. Made amends somewhat though with his low cross causing Maguire to knock the ball into his own net for Spurs' second equaliser. Made a good late challenge to deny Sancho in front of goal. Bumped his mark up with his late contributions. 6

Dejan Kulusevski

Involved in plenty of threatening moments for Spurs and it was his cross that was handled by Telles and gave Spurs their first half penalty. He also picked out Son for a big chance 15 minutes into the second half. Would have been disappointed to be taken off in the second half although he had seemed to start to tire. 7

Harry Kane

Buried his spot kick in the bottom left corner, leaving De Gea with no chance. Other than that though he struggled to affect the game too much as United marked him tightly. 6

Son Heung-min

Another quiet performance and he wasted a big chance near the hour mark with a low unmarked shot wide of goal. Slipped over on a couple of occasions during good moves in the second half as if he had the wrong type of studs on. Seems to have lost his confidence. 4

Subs

Lucas Moura

Replaced Kulusevski but did little to impact the game. 4

Steven Bergwijn

Came off the bench in the final minutes and tried to make a nuisance of himself. N/A

Harry Winks

Replaced Bentancur for the final moments. N/A
