Tottenham player ratings: Sessegnon superb as Dier, Davies and Sanchez impress in win vs Burnley

Hugo Lloris

Made an important save on 28 minutes as Cornet ran through into the box. Other than most of his performance was about dealing with crosses into the box. 7

Davinson Sanchez

Back-to-back starts for the Colombian and once again he acquitted himself well to the task at hand, showing strength on the ball and in the tackle. Involved high up the pitch for the penalty incident. 8

Eric Dier

Another important display in the centre of the backline, giving Burnley's attackers very little space when they came through the centre. 8

Ben Davies

One wayward pass aside, the Welshman was a battling presence down the left of the back three and he works very well with Sessegnon. 8

Emerson Royal

Started brightly and had a shot from distance tipped over by Pope and sent in a few crosses with mixed success. Defended well once again on the day. 7

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Ran himself into the ground and despite some iffy passing at times, he gave everything to Spurs' cause. 8

Rodrigo Bentancur

Busily organising in the centre of the pitch, pointing where he wanted everything to go when he didn't have the ball. Picked up a painful knock late on but carried on. Tidy on the ball. 7

Ryan Sessegnon

Got up the pitch from the start and sent a pinpoint cross to Kane for an early chance. Made an important clearing header in front of his own goal 24 minutes in under pressure from Barnes. Teed up Son for a big chance after the hour mark and another in the final 10 minutes. Could have had a couple of assists on another day and defended well. 8

Lucas Moura

Ran at the Burnley defence from the off and found Kane for an opportunity with an early cross. Improved as the game wore on and started some good moves for Spurs with his play. 6

Harry Kane

Sent a couple of early headers at goal that were saved or cleared and fired wide moments after the Burnley handball, but he made no mistake with an expert penalty into the bottom left corner. Fired over at the end of a swift Spurs break early in the second half. Had the chances to score far more than he did. 6

Son Heung-min

Tested Pope with a low shot at his near post from out wide and the keeper palmed away a close range effort from the South Korean not long after the hour mark. Forced the Burnley stopper into another close range save with eight minutes of normal time remaining. Got into plenty of great positions but couldn't find a way through, which summed up Tottenham's front three on the day as they needed a penalty to break the deadlock. 6

Subs

Dejan Kulusevski

Had been ill in the week but he worked hard when he came on to try to get the ball for Spurs. 5

Joe Rodon

Replaced Emerson in the final stages and made an important late header in the final moments which earned a big hug from Conte. N/A
